God is a God of Love, so .....

God is a God of love, so .....

To be honest, I just don’t know where to begin. I had two other articles prepared but I feel that God has impressed upon me the urgency to bring this particular matter to your attention. I believe there are some serious misconceptions out there that are being accepted as biblical truth.

The first misconception is ‘that since God is love, He won’t be so cruel as to cause someone to suffer, perish or burn in hell, so don’t talk to me about biblical consequences’. Well, God was love when He allowed Lucifer to pull one third of the angels out of heaven but He still bound them in chains of darkness awaiting judgment. (2 Peter 2:4 KJV) God was love when Adam and Eve chose to disobey Him and look at the ramifications of that one single willful action. God was love even in the new testament when He destroyed Ananias and his wife Sapphira for lying. JUST once. (Acts 5:1)

It is being suggested that we should not mention specific sins like fornication, homosexuality or adultery because Jesus wouldn’t want to ‘offend’ anyone. Where does that concept and doctrine come from? Jesus was a master at offending people, which is why they were constantly wanting to stone Him and kill Him.

A major misconception is that since God is tolerant, we should not correct others. Well then, I Corinthians chapter 5 is going to be a tremendous shock and eye-opener to those reading it for the first time, not to mention 2 Timothy 4:2 "Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Another serious problem is this ‘love, love, love and bless me, bless me, bless me gospel’ that the ‘fair weather’ prophets and teachers are spouting which is corrupting the church and leading people astray with it’s unbalanced teaching. There is one central theme throughout the Bible and that is LOVE and REDEMPTIVE JUDGMENT. Even the worst of parents know that BECAUSE you love your children you cannot allow them to eat a diet consisting of only ice cream and cake because it would cause severe malnutrition. They also know that they cannot allow their children to play in the middle of a busy freeway. BECAUSE they love their children, they HAVE TO to set boundaries and perimeters. It’s for their own good..

Then also, the notion that ‘times have changed and that the culture has changed, so we have to change to reach this new generation’, is an outright attack on the Gospel. It promotes a humanistic, social gospel whose guise is that it will win the world to Christ with it’s ‘seeker friendly services’. It becomes a humanistic effort producing a social club mentality and a social spirituality resulting in a carnal Christianity. A Christianity that is NOT biblical. Biblically, ministers are called to feed their sheep a balanced diet to ensure they grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and not be ‘led away with the error of the wicked’. (II Peter 3:17) True prophets of God are called to rise up and ‘sound the alarm.’ It is a mandate from God. And, the ears of those that are truly spiritually hungry are going to listen intently. Prophets, by the way, ALWAYS issue warnings! Otherwise, they are simply NOT prophets of God. God does loves us but He will not accept deceiving teachers and lying prophets.

BECAUSE God loves us He will not accept a corrupted church. BECAUSE He loves us He will not accept a compromising church. Nor will He accept a church that would rather hear a comforting message of peace, prosperity and security while the nation and the professing church
is guilty of much wickedness and rebellion against God or one that is not interested in pursuing a holy walk or interested in calling this nation to repentance. It’s NOT in His character. It is NOT in His nature. He longs to show grace and mercy but He WILL remove the candlestick from those churches if they continue on this wide road to destruction.. (Rev.2:5) He will write ‘ICHABOD’ over the doors of those churches, meaning ‘the glory of the Lord has departed’. (I Sam. 4:21)

That is why, "The voice of the Lord cries to the city and the man of wisdom will understand it". (Micah 6:9 -paraphrased)
