Q: Is disease really caused by sin? I have a cousin that is 16 years old; He was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. He is a good person and is from a Christian family. What sin could possibly justify a 16 year old that is dying from Leukemia?

A: Thank you for submitting your question.

I would first like to say that my heart goes out to that young man. Cancer is a terrible thing to have to deal with at any age.

I do a three day healing seminar about ALL the reasons that we become sick in our body. It would take an entire book to cover but I need you to realize that God does NOT send sickness and disease. His plan for us was the Garden of Eden but man blew it and we have been blaming God ever since.

Since sin (which is simply disobedience to God) came into the world, it left a path of sickness and disease, death and decay in it´s aftermath. Adam gave the ´title deed´ to this planet (so to speak) over to satan and he is the one that comes to kill, steal and destroy. BUT, there is GOOD NEWS. Jesus has overcome satan. He has overcome death. Jesus has paid the penalty of sin by dying on the cross and shedding His precious blood for the remission of OUR sins. He has made us right with God. Those that believe in Him can have eternal life.

Scripture also tells us in Isaiah 53 that ´He (Jesus) was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him: and with His stripes we are healed."

Another in James 5 (and there are hundreds others) says, "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing is with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."

Basically, those scriptures encourage us that Jesus, who knew no sin but laid down His life for us, has taken our sickness and disease upon Himself and that we can receive healing through His name. What is MOST IMPORTANT is that your cousin asks the Lord Jesus Christ to come into his life. He will give him the peace that ´surpasseth all understanding´ and he will become a child of God´s and he receives ETERNAL LIFE. Then whether he lives or whether he dies -- HE WINS.... ´for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.´ He also said that "eye hath not seen nor ear heard, neither has entered into the thoughts of man what He has prepared for those that love Him."

I will be bombarding heaven with you for healing for your cousin.

p.s. Very soon I will be posting my article, "You Can Not Afford to Be Wrong". It will shed light on your comment about being a good person. Please go to the article section and read it there.
