Submit your own questionBack Q: Hi Donna. Thank you for responding to my question. In your response, it seems that one of the biggest reasons you cite for a lost generation is sexual immorality. Even if one agrees that sexual immorality has gotten worse, wouldn´t you agree that killing someone for sport is also immoral? Isn´t oppression of a race also immoral? If society is in such a wickedly horrible decline, wouldn´t all moral behavior be getting worse? Why would some things be getting better? I´m not talking about things like smoking in school, I´m talking about things of real consequence. In the 1700´s, Catherine the Great had many lovers. Isn´t that sexual immorality? Doom and gloom has always been an effective way to scare people into doing things but if one really looks at the facts they will realize that although society has changed, things are staying pretty much the same. Some things are improving, some things are declining but this has been happening since the beginning of time.

It seems that you entirely missed most of my comments. I talked about people not keeping their word, about not honouring their commitments, about not respecting authority, about not having strong work ethics & about their lack of patriotism. I talked about people abandoning their spouses and children and not taking a second look back, not just about sexual immorality although it is clearly a major issue with grave consequences.
People like Catherine the Great have always been around but today it is considered the ‘norm’. The sexually explicit movies and all the raw flesh on magazine covers (that America exports to the entire world) might be one of the reasons we have hundreds of registered sex offenders living in each and every community and we cannot let our children and grandchildren out of our site becaue the predators are everywhere. When I was a child, from the age of 7 to adolescence, I was out from dawn to dusk all by myself with no babysitter.... and this was in downtown Toronto.
Just today authorities removed 90,000 sex offenders from MYSPACE. NINETY THOUSAND. And those are just the ones that they KNOW about.
In the 50’s & 60’s we didn’t even lock our front door but today most homes have a burglar alarm or they get robbed. My home has been broken into three times in the past three years.
Regarding ‘smoking in the school restrooms’... compare that with today where they want armed guards at school in the larger cities.
I don´t even want to get into how many teenagers are getting into occultic practises more than ever before in history.
Yes, killing people for sport is immoral but when so many are being entertained by the unspeakable violence on tv night after night it is just a matter of time before it seeps into every area of society. People have thrown their babies out of car windows. One mother micro waved her baby to death. Many babies are left to die in garbage cans regularly. Then I think of Terri Schivo here in Florida who was ordered murdered by a judge who granted her ex-husband to have the feeding tube removed and starved her to death even though her life had MUCH VALUE to her parents. These things are every day occurrences so it is obvious that human life is no longer considered valuable and precious as in past generations.
Historically the pendulum has swung back and forth and history shows that entire civilizations have been destroyed once the ‘family structure’ was weakened and people fell into immorality. One in particular was the ‘Roman Empire’ Even with that in mind, God’s word says that things ARE and WILL get worse and worse and that ‘perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. ..... ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.’ (2 Tim. 3:1-5, 7) so I am not about to argue with God about His prophecy. He says it’s getting worse and will continue to get worse until Jesus Himself returns and puts all things in order.
